Following Monday’s draw against Wales, Friday will see the much-anticipated USA men’s national team group stage match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and you’re invited to Lower.com Field to catch Gold Friday when the Stars and Stripes take on England.
Gold Friday, the second big event at Pride & Glory | A Global Soccer Celebration presented by the Nationwide series is a day-long opportunity to celebrate soccer, enjoy live music and cuisine from around the world and of course watch USMNT take on England.
In addition, all Gold Friday attendees have the opportunity to sign up for tours of Lower.com Field. Parking is free in selected lots near the stadium. Click here to plan your route.
Activities on Gold Friday
The fun and celebrations begin at 7:30am when The Pub opens for the first of three World Cup games on Friday. World Cup hosts Qatar meet Senegal and The Pub offers cuisine influenced by both the participating teams and the other countries playing on Friday.
At 10:00 a.m., the Community Plaza opens and live music from Shakin’ and Stirred fills the air as fans enjoy a variety of activities including playing FIFA 23 thanks to Buckeye Mobile Entertainment. Trivia also starts at 10am in the pub. And no – trivia isn’t just for bragging about. The top three winners will go home with prizes. (Sorry, no spoilers!)
For those interested in a guided tour of the world-class Lower.com Field, tours begin at 10:00 am and run every 30 minutes, based on availability. The tours are free and you can register now for your preferred time.
At 10:30 a.m., Broke Johnny, a food truck specializing in breakfast and brunch, begins. Thirty minutes later, Dos Hermanos will also be serving food, just in time for the second game of the day: the Netherlands versus Ecuador.
From 1 p.m. the Alan Carl Band will spoil the participants with live music.
The main event begins at 14:00 when the USMNT play their second group stage game against England. The game will be screened in the pub and plaza and the game is vital for the Americans if they are to keep their knockout stage hopes alive.
At 4:30 p.m., all Gold Friday attendees will have the opportunity to watch a special screening of Good Rivals, a new documentary that explores the cultural, social and political aspects of the heated soccer rivalry between the United States and Mexico. Given Columbus’ role in the rivalry, Lower.com Field was selected as one of the premier opportunities for anyone to see Good Rivals, making this event a must-attend event.

The Pride & Glory Community Kickoff is a free, ticket-free event. Everyone is welcome, and free parking is available at the Hocking Street Lot and the 600 Spring Lot.
The doors open at 7:30 a.m., right on time for the first of three World Cup games on Friday.
All are invited to visit Lower.com Field and experience the 2022 FIFA World Cup at the heart of football in Central Ohio. Fans are welcome to represent any team they wish to at this inclusive event.
Pride & Glory is a month-long celebration and fans are invited to watch 54 World Cup games at the Pub at Lower.com Field.
The next big event is on December 18 when Pride & Glory culminates with the conclusion of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Fans can watch while enjoying live music in the plaza while sampling food from the pub and several food trucks before the FIFA World Cup trophy is hoisted.
During the World Cup, the crew and their community partners will be conducting the month-long fundraiser presented by Meijer with the goal of collecting 500 soccer balls for the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, which will be distributed to local recreation centers.
Donation containers can be found in Lower.com Field’s Pub and Crew Shop, with fans having the additional option of adding a football to their Crew Shop purchases. Additionally, there will be a rolling 50/50 prize draw throughout the World Cup, with proceeds benefiting On Our Sleeves.
