Last October, Disney’s The Owl House returned with the Season 3 premiere episode, “Thanks to Them.” The episode is the first of three episodes to air for the show’s final season. Shortly after the episode premiered on Disney Channel, it was available to view in its entirety and for free on YouTube. Now the episode will finally come to Disney+, joining the previous two seasons. From Wednesday, December 14th owl house Fans can relive the magic on the streaming platform. For now, the episode will only be available to US viewers.
The Owl House first premiered in 2020, introducing viewers to Luz Noceda (Sarah Nicole Robles), a 14-year-old human who accidentally stumbles into the demon realm. There she meets a witch named Eda (Wendie Malick) and her demon helper King (Alexander Hirsch). With Eda’s tutelage, Luz hopes to become a witch and during her time on the Boiling Isles meets others including her enemy and friend Amity Blight (Mae Whitman).
When Season 2 ended, Imperator Belos (Matthew Rhys) began sucking wild magic and opened a portal back to the human world. Meanwhile, The Collector wreaked havoc when Luz, Amity, Gus (Isac Ryan Brown), willow (Taty Gabrielle) and hunter (Zeno Robinson) tried to stop the chaos. However, the group was left with only one option: go through the portal, leaving Eda and King behind. Season 3 picks up just moments after the group returns to Luz’s house, much to the surprise of her mother, Camila (Elizabeth Grullon). For months, the group tries to adjust to their new surroundings and works to figure out how to return to the Boiling Isles. Meanwhile, Luz struggles to readjust to school and life without King and Eda.
Little is known about the plot of Episode 2, but Luz and company (and a very special addition) will return to the realm of demons where they will have to deal with the aftermath of what happened months earlier. Based on the season 2 finale, viewers are likely to learn the fate of King, Eda, Raine (Avi Roque) and the rest of the witches. The finale also showcased the power of The Collector, who may have also done a lot of damage while the group was away.
The Owl House was created by Dana Terrace. Additional voice acting included Michael Diez, Cissy Jones, Bumper Robinson, Mela Lee, Frieda Wolff, Kevin John, and more. Including Thanks to Them, the third and final season will consist of three 44-minute specials (equivalent to approximately six standard-length episodes).
The Owl House Season 3 will premiere on December 14th on Disney+. The remaining two episodes currently have no release date but are expected in 2023. Watch the season 3 intro below:
