Just one more day and the weekend is here, you got those gamers! To get you over that final hurdle, here’s some gaming news to sit down with, including Microsoft’s confusing statement that it believes Elder Scrolls 6 is just a “mid-size” game.
Away from Microsoft, a dataminer has given us our first glimpse of Ghost’s true colors from Modern Warfare 2, and Blizzard is asking fans to be patient with Overwatch 2’s PvE modes. All that and more as you read on.
In a bid to convince regulators that the Activision Blizzard acquisition is all right, it has made a rather bizarre claim about The Elder Scrolls 6. When it comes to exclusivity, Microsoft claims its only interest is in making “mid-size games” exclusive, claiming that huge games like Call of Duty and niche games like Psychonauts 2 don’t benefit from being tied to a console. Microsoft also claims that it often considers single-player titles “medium-sized” and lumps in titles like Redfall, Starfield, and the aforementioned Elder Scrolls 6.
Modern Warfare 2 datamine reveals what Ghost looks like without his mask
Modern Warfare 2 is a pretty straight forward title, although one mystery that has always stood the test of time is what Ghost actually looks like under that mask. Well it’s no longer a mystery as Ghost’s face was revealed by a Modern Warfare 2 dataminer who discovered that there is actually a face model underneath the mask. Unfortunately, even though he sounds very gruff and mysterious and half the internet is hyped for him, Ghost just looks like a pretty average guy.
Overwatch 2 players “may have to wait a bit” for PvE news
Overwatch 2’s launch was such a mess that sorting out the PvE modes was probably the last thing on Blizzard’s mind at the time. Now that things have settled down a bit, fans have been wondering when the promised PvE experience will actually be here. Overwatch 2 Executive Producer Jared Neuss told a fan on Twitter that unfortunately we’ll have to “wait a bit” for the mode as all attention is currently focused on the launch of Season 2 next month.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s Fuecoco is Apparently the ‘Brokenest Starter in Nuzlocke History’
It wouldn’t be a news roundup without a bit of Pokemon right now, and now that people are getting used to the game’s adorable little creatures, a wave of bans on the competitive scene has predictably followed. For Nuzlocker, it’s recommended that players ban Fuecoco from their runs due to his all-around dominance of the game, while both Flutter Mane and Houndstone have been banned from Competitive OU for being absolute monsters.
Team Ninja says nothing is in the works for Ninja Gaiden and Dead Or Alive
Finally, we will end with some disappointing news for Ninja Gaiden fans, as the Ninja development team has clarified Studio President Fumihiko Yasuda’s comments about possible Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive reboots. Team Ninja Creative Director Tom Lee has dashed hopes of Ryu Hayabusa making a comeback, stating that the developer “is unable to share any details or information on any of these franchises at this time”.
