Mayor of Kingston returns for season two, and it looks like Jeremy RennerThe Peacekeeper of , Mike McLusky, is back and trying to stop the explosion. He has many challenges ahead and keeping his balance becomes even more difficult than before.
The series is from yellowstone Creator Taylor Sheridan and it’s a badass look at the prison system. The story is set in fictional Kingstown, Michigan, but it feels more real than your standard case-of-the-week network procedure. McLusky is the unofficial mayor and acts as an intermediary between the police, prisons and the streets. He maintains relationships with all sides and doesn’t let his emotions get the better of him so he can do what’s best for everyone, but with so many conflicting motivations, things explode in big ways.
The story so far
Mike McLusky comes from a family of power brokers; his brother Kyle (Taylor Handley) is a police officer and his mother Miriam McLusky (Dianne Wiest) is a sober college professor who volunteers to teach at Kingstown Women’s Prison. Kingstown is a prison town with a total of seven prisons for 20,000 people, all within a 10 mile radius. Eldest McLusky brother Mitch (Kyle Chandler) was the original unofficial mayor, and Mike is helping him. After Mitch McLusky is gunned down by someone searching the McLusky brothers’ offices for the money, Mike must assume his brother’s role and find out who killed Mitch.
Mike McLusky had his hands full in the first season. He saves a young woman named Iris (Emma Laird) from a gang, keeps an eye out for gang leader Deverin “Bunny” Washington (Tobi Bamtefa), and tries to clean up the mess left by Sam (Mandela Van Peebles), a novice prison guard. After a prisoner is shot dead by a trigger-happy Sam, the prisoners take matters into their own hands and rampage. The prison has been confiscated and they are holding the guards hostage, including Kyle. Mike needs to find Kyle and negotiate with the leader to calm things down. A SWAT team uses the sewers to breach the prison and take back control. Mike fails to convince them and when the SWAT team enters the sewers, there is a bloodbath.
Mayor of Kingston Storyline of the second season
Mayor of Kingston The second season will deal with the aftermath of the uprising and all the chaos that remains. Mike will have to deal with the aftermath of the uprising from season one, and we can only assume that trust in him will need to be restored. The riot broke out while Mike was at his cabin in the woods, and he was unaware of the riot until things had already escalated to an extreme point. Still, he needs to win back the trust of all sides because so many people died in the riots. This job has always seemed more of a chore than a passion, but he has to work overtime if he’s going to make things right.
Cast of the second season
Renner will, of course, return to star in this crime drama, as will Wiest as his troubled mother, Miriam, and Tyler Handey as Kyle, his career-focused brother. In an interview with FilmSpeak, Wiest expressed her delight at playing a character who doesn’t care what others think. “It’s liberating in so many ways [play] such an angry woman. That you don’t care what people think of you. It’s also a lot of work because it’s a cover for them. It’s her way of mourning [death] by her husband.” Expect Miriam to continue speaking her mind in season two.
Laird is back as Iris and yellowstone Alum Hugh Dillon returns as senior drug, robbery and homicide detective for the Kingstown Police Department, Ian Fergus.
Crime boss Milo Sunter – played by Aidan Gillen game of Thrones — will cause even more trouble for Mike and the town in season two. Mike arrested him for robbing an armored car, but despite being incarcerated, he was still able to control events outside his home. Mike’s co-worker and friend Bunny and cop Stevie – played by Derek Webster – both return.
