Ford E-Tourneo Custom electric van range, price and release date

Ford introduced All-electric van that can handle business on weekdays and adventure on weekends. The E-Tourneo Custom falls under the Ford Pro umbrella and is therefore designed for work use, but can easily be outfitted as a camper van for your weekend getaways.

The E-Tourneo Custom is aimed in part at those interested in the growing van life movement. The van has been designed to be a little more practical than a camper van or motorhome, but still fully suitable for outdoor adventures. Ford’s latest EV could serve as a decent middle ground, offering both functionality and flexibility that would suit part-time van-livers perfectly.

The Ford E-Tourneo Custom fits any work or adventure

Key Features — The E-Tourneo Custom will use the same battery cell technology as Ford’s F-150 Lightning pickup truck. The 74kWh battery will power the van’s 160kW electric motor and provide a range of around 230 miles.

You can charge the E-Tourneo Custom with 125 kW DC fast charging, which takes you from 15 to 80 percent in about 41 minutes. In emergencies, a five-minute quick charge can get you about 23 miles. The van is still compatible with 11kW AC charging, which can be fully charged in less than eight hours.

The all-electric van’s decent range and charging capabilities mean you won’t be stranded on your camping

The EV version of the E-Tourneo Custom features 2.3kW of Ford’s Pro Power Onboard, which essentially acts as a power station, letting you charge your appliances, power tools or camping gear. For all your work needs, the van can handle a maximum towing capacity of 2,000 kilograms or approximately 4,400 pounds while offering a smoother ride with its quiet electric drive and redesigned chassis.

The E-Tourneo Custom comes with smart features like adaptive cruise control, reverse brake assist, fully active parking assist and 360-degree camera system, but you can outfit it with a tilting steering wheel, panoramic glass roof, rail-bound rear seats, power side doors, B&O Audio and digital key cards.

Thanks to the flexible design, you can configure the interior to your

diesel first — Ford will offer the E-Tourneo Custom in three trim levels: Active, Sports and the top-of-the-line Titanium X. While the E-Tourneo Custom is primarily an all-electric model, Ford plans to introduce a plug-in model. in a hybrid and a diesel version with eight-speed automatic transmission and intelligent all-wheel drive.

The diesel version will be the first to hit the European market in mid-2023, while the plug-in and all-electric versions will be available later in the year. Ford will produce all models of the E-Tourneo Custom at its plant in Turkey. For those who don’t like vans, Ford plans to introduce three more electric vehicles under the Ford Pro branding by 2024.
