Disney+ has brought back some of its most popular films from yesteryear. mumbo-jumbo have Hocus pocus 2; enchantment have disappointment. Even pasture gets a sequel to a TV series, and although it’s been paused, Beauty and the Beast might get a prequel. It’s enough that fans are wondering what other big hits of the past will find a way back into the present. The answer is Cinderella, with Brandy returning to the role The pocket watch. Let’s run through everything you need to know, from the cast to release date predictions.

This is perhaps the biggest and most important thing The pocket watch is not a sequel to Rodgers & Hammerstein’s famous Cinderella Musical starring Brandy and Whitney Houston. It’s part of Disney’s progeny Franchise that began in 2015 as part of the Disney Channel Original Movies collection. Two sequels in 2017 and 2019 came out before Disney+ launched.

But since the arrival of the streaming service, it was understood that the next film in the series would debut in streaming. However, fans have wondered how the series would continue due to the death of star Cameron Boyce, who played Cruella De Vil’s son Carlos and was in a romantic relationship with Jane (Brenna D’Amico), the fairy godmother’s daughter.

The original main actors of progeny won’t be returning for the fourth part of the franchise, which is one of the reasons for the new title. A familiar face will be back, however, China Anne McClain, who played Uma, the daughter of Ursula, who was introduced in the second film. McClain announced that she will direct the new story at D23 Expo 2022. Dara Reneé and Kylie Cantrall joined her. Reneé will join the franchise as Ulyana, Uma’s teenage mean sister, while Cantrall will play Red, the Queen of Hearts’ rebellious 16-year-old daughter.

On November 21, 2022, Disney revealed the rest of the main cast, including two major stars: Rita Ora, who would join the franchise as Red’s mother, the Queen of Hearts, who “rules the kingdom of Wonderland with an iron fist. A second returnee from the original franchise has also been announced, as Melanie Paxson will reprise her role as the fairy godmother.

But the most prominent name joins the new progeny Movie is Brandy Norwood. Norwood, who co-starred Cinderella In 1997, she will reprise her role as Cinderella, mother to 16-year-old daughter Chloe, played by Malia Baker, who is now in her 40s The Babysitters Club.

The new cast includes Joshua Colley (graduation year), who plays Hook, son of, well, you get the idea. Also starring Ruby Rose Turner and Morgan Dudley, who play younger versions of Cinderella and The Queen of Hearts.

That progeny Movies unfolded an imaginative mythology of two new lands, the idyllic Auradon and the ragged Isle of the Lost, home to the teenage descendants of Disney’s most famous characters and particularly its most notorious villains. The pocket watch returns to these lands and also takes the audience down the rabbit hole into the hostile unincorporated territory of Wonderland, a magical, mysterious place that has become famous Alice in Wonderland. It introduces Red, the whip smart and rebellious teenage daughter of the Queen of Hearts (Alice in Wonderland) and Chloe, the perfectionist and athletic daughter of Cinderella and Prince Charming (Cinderella). In order to prevent an impending coup in Auradon – one that looms during the celebrations of a new royal baby – Red must team up with Chloe to travel back in time via the White Rabbit’s pocket watch to prevent an event leading to this would lead to serious consequences.

All three progeny Movies – directed by mumbo-jumbo‘ Kenny Ortega were musicals and The pocket watch will be no exception. So far, Disney has stated that there will be “seven new songs” plus an unannounced number of classic Disney songs that will be included on the film’s soundtrack.

Production and rehearsals for The pocket watch are reportedly already underway. Though there are no pictures on the set, Kylie Cantrell is hanging out with the cast, as you can see on her Halloween Instagram.

The pocket watch Trailer and release date predictions

No release date has been announced for The Pocketwatch and there is no footage for a trailer. However, since the film is already in production, fans will likely be able to see it on Disney+ sometime in the second half of 2023.
